About This Calculator
Settle shared expenses when different people paid for different items. Each expense can be divided only among the people who took part.
How It Works
Each participant's share is expense ÷ selected participants. A person's net balance is amount paid − total share owed; people with negative balances repay those with positive balances.
Net balance = amount paid − shares owed
Example
Alex pays $90 for dinner shared by Alex, Bea, and Chen. Bea pays $30 for a taxi shared with Chen, so Bea pays Alex $15 and Chen pays Alex $45.
Important Notes
Select the correct participants for every expense. CalqKit assigns any residual cent deterministically and minimizes the number of settlement payments for groups of up to 12 balances.
