How It Works
Tip equals bill × tip rate ÷ 100. Total equals bill + tip, and amount per person equals total ÷ number of people.
Per person = (bill + tip) ÷ people
Example
On a $120 bill with a 20% tip split among three people, the tip is $24, the total is $144, and each person pays $48.
Important Notes
The tip is based only on the bill amount entered. Displayed shares are rounded to cents, so a group may need to allocate a one-cent remainder.
